Guy Gardner..Red Lantern?

Well, it seems that Guy Gardner, Douchebag Green Lantern, is on the verge of becoming a red lantern.  Given that he was the runner up in case Hal Jordan wasn't up to being a green lantern, it seems he's done nothing but let everyone down in his life.
Much like this guy..who was never seen again after the Honeymoon

Anyways, Guy briefly became a Red Lantern when he saw fellow Lantern Kyle Raynor get killed during a Black Lantern attack.  A red power ring found it's way to his finger and boom..red lantern Fonzie..erm Guy.  Long story short he gets saved..kinda but the red essense is still in him...kinda like herpes.
In the newest run in the GL universe, Guy is dealing with his pansy ass issues and discovers he's still got herpes..erm..the red power in him.  So at the moment he's flying to the home planet of the Blue Lanterns for a cure..but will he make it?!

I personally hope he doesn't.  Him being a Red Lantern actually made him awesome.  No more quirky one liners, and no more of his idiotic green lantern leather jacket (available at the Buckle).  So please DC Comics..make him a Red Lantern...pweeeeeese?

Blackest Night - Prelude

Well folks..or folk..Here it comes, a review and summary of Blackest Night, starting with the Prelude!

Black Hand ("leader" and first member of the Black Lantern Corps) had already been established as a villain within the pages of Green Lantern. Writer Geoff Johns revisited his origin and expanded upon certain aspects of it during the Secret Origin story arc. During the arc, Hand's energy-absorbing weapon (previously thought to be an original invention) is revealed to have been constructed by Atrocitus; a fervent enemy of the Big headed blue guys and future founder of the Red Lanterns. Atrocitus comes to Earth and approaches Hand, recognizing him as a "doorway to the black" that possesses the power to bring about the Blackest Night. Atrocitus is about to blast Black Hand with a glowy dildo when the Green Lantern Corps show up and basically fuck everything up by letting Hand get away.  Hand manages to escape and pockets the dildo and runs. The possession of this weapon soon leads him to become an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps, as he now feels a need to extinguish the light of the emotional spectrum.

While being transported to prison, Black Hand experiences a sudden power surge that kills his captors. He roams the desert, hearing a voice instructing him to reclaim the souls of characters who were resurrected. Hand murders his family and commits suicide. The Guardian Scar arrives, and creates the first black power ring, which resurrects Black Hand. She reveals that Hand is the physical embodiment of death, and serves as the Herald of the Black Lantern Corps in the same manner that IonParallax, and the Predator are for willpower, fear, and love respectively. Hand later digs up Bruce Wayne's corpse, removes his skull, and recites the Black Lantern oath for the first time. Soon after, black power rings descend upon the universe and begin reviving the deceased as Black Lanterns that attack the heroes of the DC Universe.
So basically thanks to the Green Lanterns, the Blackest Night happens and every super hero that's ever died ever comes back to life and makes things hell for everyone. And yes I notice that my font got smaller...I have no idea how to fix it...yeah..awesome right?

Alan Moore is the man!

Ok, so this is my first actual attempt at a comic review, and being the sort of person that I am, I decided to do a review on Alan Moore's Neonomicon series. To give you a little history lesson first would be in good form first.

Neonomicon is based on H.P. Lovecraft's "Cthulhu Mythos" Cthulhu is an Elder God from an alternate dimension who enjoys nothing better than fucking you up in a dream and being summoned to earth through ritualistic orgies (I know right!). Anyways that's the short version..if you want to see a longer version..well....google it becuase I'm too lazy to explain the whole thing to you. As Mike is borrowing them at the moment I can't really give a summary, and I wouldn't anyways because everybody needs to read this series. So good.
So go to your local comic book story and buy these. They come out every other month I think so ..go spend the ten bucks for the first three issues and enjoy. While you're at it, read the Cthulhu Mythos, it'll do you some good, Scouts Honor.

Overall, I give this series and Alan Moore an 50 out of 10 and I hope he doesn't let me down with the next issues.
